Doily Butteflies

Another fabulous  Friday Challenge at Frosted Designs - Sketch + Doilies, not only to dash your available doilies but also use this amazing sketch by Brenshevia

And here's my take

use doilies as stencil, apply gesso, let it dry completely

use spray ink to add interest

 fold in half

use piece of patterned paper from stash to alter the
                                                 clothespin

Lace doily through the gap in the clothespin and gently
bunch up the remaining bit of doily to create the wings

  • patterned paper - American Crafts and Colorbok
  • doily - Wilton
  • "you & me", flowers - K & Company

Nanaimo Visit 2012

Instead of double pager layout, I decided to try different approach for this one. I honestly don't know how to call this  but my inspiration is from a wedding invitation.

 My page :

Cover

I used this --->

as my stencil. This is actually from pizza box. Instead of putting the pizza directly on the box, our favorite pizza parlor use this to keep the pizza crust "crispy". Mist with Dylusion ink - lemon zest and cut grass color. Twine and wooden buttons - Michaels; chipboard letter - Basic Grey

I used masking tape to attach sides patterned paper, doodled dots and lines to get "spiral notebook" effect.

  • patterned paper - Crate Paper
  • cardstock - Recollection
  • masking tape, rhinestones - Michaels
  • envelope - Dollar Shop
  • doily - Wilton
  • twines - American Crafts
  • frame, vellum envelope - Colorbok (goodies from Frances)
  • ric rac ribbon - Michaels (RAK from Laurie)
  • bird cage, bird stamp - Michaels
  • "Go Places", "ice cream" stamp - Imaginisce
  • ink - Memento
  • canvas tag - Making Memories
  • journaling card - Bo Bunny
  • printed canvas banner - American Crafts
  • pens and markers - Sharpie
  • others - net (kitchen finds)
